Dojin Aikikai Dojin Aikikai Schools Of Aikido Southwest Area HQ

O-Sensei We welcome you to the Dojin Aikikai Schools of Aikido
The founder of Aikido maintained, “To injure an adversary is to injure one’s self.” Aikido doesn’t teach a person to fight, but to stop or even prevent a fight. This art called Ai-ki-do was developed by Morihei Ueshiba O-Sensei (Great Teacher). It is meant to be a defensive art to allow you to defend yourself from real world street level attacks. Our art is not a pacifistic form of Aikido. For those that do not understand what a true violent attack is and what happens during that attack, our style of Aikido is a no non-sense system that will train you in a manor that will bring you to a high level of self-confidence. Our Aikido is a tried and proven method of protecting yourself on the streets of your home town or anywhere else.

Dojin Aikikai Aikido classes are taught by, and over seen by Chief Instructor Sensei Ed Francis. Francis, Sensei has over 27 years experience teaching Aikido. Sensei is a 2nd degree blackbelt in the Shin-Shin Toitsu Aikido of Kochei Tohei Sensei, a 3rd degree blackbelt in the Suenaka-ha Aikido of Roy Suenaka Sensei, and is currently a 6th degree blackbelt in the Dojin Aikikai Aikido of Ron Granville Sensei. Francis, Sensei is the founder of the Aiki Tai Ho Do Aikido system, which is dedicated to the instruction of law enforcement officers in suspect control tactics and approved by T.C.L.E.O.S.E. (Texas Commission for Law enforcement Officers Standards Education). These classes are taught by Sensei and several of his instructors, some who are actual law enforcement officers. Local Officers, who understand and have faced real world attacks.

Our instructional staff can teach traditional Aikido, rape prevention, or law enforcement suspect control tactics to you too at one of our schools. Our schools are located at several locations and are available at a variety of times of the evening. Our headquarters class is at the YMCA 305 S. Randolph. We are here for Children ages 5yrs and up, and adults. See our schedule page for our other locations and times.
